Download instructions

These instructions explain how to install Universal Simulator. This software is capable of running models described in WeedML documents.

The current version comes with a library of models and sample WeedML documents, as they were presented at the ENDURE Summer School, June 2009 in Volterra, Italy.

Universal Simulator: Download latest version

The Universal Simulator uses the open-source GraphViz package to draw diagrams. You need to install this as well.

Running Universal Simulator

First time you run the Universal Simulator it will ask for the location of the 'dot' tool, which is part of the Graphviz package. The location of the 'dot' tool will typically be 'C:/Program Files/Graphviz2.20/bin'. You will need to supply this information only once.

If you forgot to install Graphviz, just hit cancel, exit Universal Simulator, install Graphviz and start Universal Simulator again.

Now, you can open and run the supplied WeedML documents. The documents can be edited with any text editor like Notepad, but not with text processors like Word

Further development

Versions for Linux and Mac OS are planned for summer 2010.
